Those that lust after material wealth, are terrified of the Real World.
They regard material wealth as protection, from the Real World. They regard material wealth as insulation, from the Real World.
But instead of being protected from the Real World, they become distant and detached from the Real World.
Therefore, these Individuals never develop adequate and healthy skills to function in the Real World.
The skills they do develop, are ones that create an even greater distance and detachment from the Real World.
This is reason for so much investment of time, effort and resources in creating artificial environments, which feed them the sense of control they desperately seek.
However, the unavoidable impact of Reality onto their perceived expectations, results in an impossible dichotomy that drives neurotic and dysfunctional behaviour.
So, because of the reach their wealth and influence provide, this becomes a detriment, not only to themselves, but society as a whole.
Billionaires, are just an extreme expression of denial and cowardice, effectively concealed behind a confident facade.
