Iran Has The Advantage At The Moment
I disagree with Alexander on a particular point.
Donald Trump placed his own testicles into the Iranian vice, and dared Iran to crush them, metaphorically speaking.
Why should Iran not oblige his implied request?
I would not recommend any face-saving options for Donald Trump, Benjamin Netanyahu, the United States or Israel.
This behaviour is not new for the United States and Israel. So maybe severe humiliation is the only way to correct this arrogant, murderous, self-righteous behaviour.
Why should the United States be given any advantage at all?
Face saving options are applicable for genuine mistakes or accidents. 1
There should not be face saving options for deliberate malicious behaviour. Especially when the behaviour is continued over and over again. 1
It should be noted though, it is the Iranians that have to contend with the repercussion.
Advice is easy to give, when there are no consequences to pay.

Why are there people within the Trump administration pussyfooting around Donald Trump if he has and/or is developing dementia?
As Robert mentioned, they did not swear an oath to serve a monarch. So why do they behave as if they did?
Are these people content to simply mollycoddle Donald Trump, to prevent him from ordering even greater atrocities?
Why are they not speaking out publicly?
These are serious circumstances that are before us, and yet they think it appropriate to keep a lid on it, sweeping it all under the rug?
People have died and many more are going to die because of this.
If Donald Trump is suspected to be in cognitive decline, then members of the administration and congress that have obligations under the 25th Amendment, should act under those responsibilities to ensure a deranged President does not stay in office.
If they fail to carry out the functions of their office in this regard, then there must be charges brought and proceedings for criminal negligence and dereliction of duty initiated against them.
The mechanisms for this should exist on a Federal and/or State level.
But of course, this is highly unlikely to occur. Because the United States does not operate on any foundational principles. It only pretends to.
Congress is a place where people of low moral character go to become wealth, through bribery and insider trading. It is not a place where elected Individuals accept responsibilities, and diligently carry out those responsibilities.

The discussion about getting a nuclear deal with Iran is disappointing nonsense.
This conflict has nothing to do with Iran gaining nuclear weapons.
Nuclear weapons is a smoke screen for regime change in Iran, or the destruction of Iran as a viable country. All for the benefit of Israel.
This is the reality.
Address the reality.

China may well want an open Strait of Hormuz for its own interests, but who is going to pay for the damage done to Iran from these unprovoked attacks?
If Russia and/or China force Iran to take a deal that sees no recompense for the death and destruction caused and no criminal charges against those responsible, then the entire Global South should tell Russia, China and the United States to go pound sand. While subsequently causing as much turmoil for all three countries as they possibly can.
That’s assuming the leaders in these Global South countries have balls at all.

Donald Trump had a consistent history of opposing wars, yet look where we are.
I know Robert thinks well of J.D. Vance. To me, he’s not all that impressive.
Although to be fair, he may be better than most people in the U.S. Congress.
But that’s not a high bar to reach.

Politically Powerful, Functionally Incompetent Deep State.
Robert makes a good point about the Deep State being Politically Powerful when it comes to placing lackeys in appropriate political positions. But is Functionally Incompetent in regards to actually carrying out operations that don’t turn into a debacle.

Finally, at some point, real, actual justice must take place.
Because if Individuals and legal systems fail to hold major criminals accountable for horrendous crimes, then Nature will hold everyone accountable.
