“The Price Is Worth It”
On the 12th of May 1996, Madeleine Albright made this statement in a 60 Minutes interview.
The estimated 500,000 Iraqi children died, because of U.S. sanctions on Iraq.
How much uproar did this cause in the United States at the time?
Essentially zero.
She later went on to become United States Secretary of State, under President Bill Clinton, from 1997 to 2001.
