The Emotional Body can be difficult to clearly define in a logical and rational sense, but its purpose cannot be understated as part of the whole Human experience.
The general functions of a correctly operating Emotional Body can be summed up in the following ways.
- The Weather System of the Psycho-Biological Organism.
- Inner Conflict Indicator and Feedback.
- Sensory Device to indicate the state of a situation or environment, such as being safe or dangerous.
- A Measure of Personal Value.
The Weather System
In many ways Emotions are analogous to the Earth’s weather systems. Comparably, weather systems help promote the life, growth and experiences of biological life forms. While Emotions help promote the life, growth and experiences of the Human Psycho-Biological Organism. In fact, Emotions do this for any complex animal.
Weather systems provide the constantly changing environmental conditions which stimulate and drive growth. Just like the weather is sometimes fine, sunny and calm, but at other times it is rough, dark and stormy, Emotions possess a very similar quality in this regard.
Storms may represent unstable weather conditions and potential destruction, but they also have a clarifying and cleansing effect. When One experiences the moments after a thunderstorm, there is often a refreshing sense in the air. This is especially the case after a thunderstorm which proceeds a long period of hot, dry weather. Plants and other life forms spring to life from these invigorating effects.
When One experiences the turmoil bought on by an intense Inner Conflict, the resulting Creative resolution can also have a stimulating and rejuvenating effect on the Individual in question. The serene period that follows, allows for rest and recovery to take place, along with any adaptations to manifest.
Inner Conflict Indicator And Feedback
Inner Conflicts are usually indicated by Emotions like fear, insecurity, stress, anxiety. Any Emotions that have a strong attachment to a particular desire or outcome.
But upon resolution of an Inner Conflict, lighter more pleasant Emotions will be the feedback response.

Sensory Device
The sense of dread in a particular situation or the feeling of peacefulness in a certain surrounding are sensory indicators of conditions that are either dangerous or safe.
These can trigger physiological responses such as “Fight or Flight”, in preparation for the body to act quickly and decisively in avoiding or subduing a particular danger. Or there is the counter to this, with the calmness experienced in a safe environment, which can stimulate the body to rest and recover.
The Emotional Body can also be a very accurate device for the measurement of Honesty and Deception, provided that it is calibrated correctly to begin with. More on this in the post, Calibrating For Truth.
A Measure Of Personal Value
Of course, the aspect of the Emotional Body that will be very familiar is its expression of personal value. The people and objects that One most value’s will also provide the most potent Emotional experiences.
A child will provide a strong Emotional experience for a parent, both in a Pleasant and Unpleasant way. Children will be a source of great joy for parents, but will potentially also cause great distress. The children of Others may evoke an emotional response, but it will not be on the same level as that of One’s own children.
The passing of a loved one will arouse levels of sadness which correlate to the value and meaning that the departed had to the particular Individual. However, there is very little sadness felt towards the passing of a person that One has no affection for.
A further example is when One experiences a passionate and romantic relationship with Another. There is always high potency in these exchanges, both in a loving and possibly volatile nature.
A Psycho-Biological Organism that is weighed down by a sub-conscious state of perpetual fear, will invariably have an Emotional Body that is not operating correctly and the above-mentioned functions can be severely hindered and confused.
Or put another way, a backlog of sub-conscious, unresolved Inner Conflicts can interfere with the correct functioning of the Emotional Body, particularly if there is strong resistance against any resolution taking place.
