Fake Diplomacy & Permanent Conflict
John Mearsheimer, Alexander Mercouris
& Glenn Diesen
This commentary is specifically referring to John Mearsheimer’s remarks at 1:06:27 – 1:09:15.
I understand that John is a highly respected academic, but quite often, I find him talking absolute nonsense.
This notion of the United States widening the gap between the other major powers of the world over time, simply by importing immigrants, is ridiculous.
How many immigrants does the United States have to import, before the United States, is no longer, the United States?
As a whole, the United States may be a wealthy country. But when that wealth is concentrated within a small segment of the population, and getting smaller, this alone creates its own seriously destabilising pressures.
In line with the wealth disparity, how is the United States going to widen the gap between the other major powers, when deeply ingrained political corruption is considered normal and, is off the charts.
Corruption is a major corrosive factor for a society, regardless of wealth.
Any innate benefits the United States has for prosperity, can easily be eroded by a putrid and incestuous political establishment.
All three commentators seem to think that a long drawn-out stand-off is on the cards between the West and Russia. This is not the case at all.
The collapse of the West, is closer than these three gentlemen think.
The nature of such a collapse, is that is happens suddenly, without warning.
Only in retrospect, is it recognised as obvious.
The collapse of the West, with all that that entails, is not going to be enticing anyone to the West.
